BOZEMAN, Mont. -

It was a rainy start to Bogert pool's season in Bozeman. On Sunday, it closed about an hour early, just before 5p.m. due to thunder.

We were there shortly after that as lifeguards were putting the thermal blanket over the water and calling it a day. However, we are told before the bad weather, about 60 people came in throughout the afternoon to enjoy opening day. Bogert Pool will re-open for recreational swimming Monday at 1p.m.

The opening comes just weeks after workers re-did the aging pool's drains to get it up to federal standards. We are told they are doing the bare minimum when it comes to maintenance. That is because the city is moving forward with plans for a new outdoor pool at Regional Park, as a partnership with the YMCA. Another note for this season is at Bogert Pool the city says they will not be able to open the slide because of recent updates in the Pool and Spa Safety Act.
