HAMILTON, Mont. -

A parade in downtown Hamilton officially kicked off the 2014 Ravalli County Fair and Rodeo Wednesday morning.

The weather was beautiful. People lined Main Street for blocks.

Fire trucks, musicians and horseback riders strutted past excited youngsters anticipating what colorful sight they would see next.

Corben Richard and his brother and sister were two such kids.

"It's awesome," said young Corben, "it's fun and they throw candy."

The parade ushers in a fair that's been ongoing for well over 100 years.

This year's theme -- "Buckles, Boots and Rodeo Chutes."

Among the attractions, besides thousands of exhibits, are an NRA rodeo, and Bull-A-Rama, Dock Dogs and the Elephant Encounter Show.
