BOZEMAN, Mont. -

A Bozeman woman was honored Wednesday morning for impacting hundreds of lives over the past couple years.

Kelly Erickson received the Outstanding Crime Victim Advocate award. She has been the legal advocate for domestic violence victims advocacy nonprofit HAVEN for the past 2 years.

As a legal advocate, Erickson supports survivors of domestic violence as they navigate the court system.

She tells us she was completely surprised when she found out she won the award.

"This award means so much to me. It is something that I didn't expect that I would receive, and to me means that I have impacted a lot of people's lives and they have impacted my life as well," said Erickson.

Two others in the state also got the award -- Janel Pliley, an Adult Protective Services worker in Powell County, and Angie Fox, a crime victim advocate in the Yellowstone County Attorney's Office.
