BOZEMAN, Mont. -

The FBI announced they're now offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Bozeman fugitive Kevin Anthony Briggs.

The FBI Salt Lake City Division says Briggs may be traveling through Washington or Idaho.

He's wanted for state charges of aggravated assault, attempted sexual intercourse without consent, assault on a peace officer, and escape plus a federal charge of fleeing to avoid prosecution.

Bozeman Police arrested Briggs on the early morning of February 1st after he allegedly attempted to rape and strangle a woman, and assaulted a police officer.

Later that morning, Briggs reportedly walked out of the Law and Justice Center after a police oversight left him unattended.

FBI court documents state the person who allegedly drove Briggs from Bozeman to Missoula said Briggs told them he planned to travel through Washington state or to Oregon, California, and/or Mexico.

Authorities believe Briggs purchased a one-way bus ticket to Spokane, Washington, later that evening, from Missoula, Montana.

Briggs is considered ARMED and DANGEROUS.  Anyone with information as to the identity or whereabouts of Briggs should refrain from approaching him and is urged to contact law enforcement immediately.
