BOZEMAN, Mont. -

Folks in Bozeman braved blustery conditions and icy water Monday to raise money for Special Olympics Montana.

141 people and 18 teams participated in the Bozeman Police Department's Presidents' Day Plunge 2014.

The annual event is held at the East Gallatin Recreation Area.

Organizers handed out awards for most money raised and best costume.

We spoke to one attendee about taking the plunge, who said, "It was great. Cold! It takes your breath away. It was my third year jumping and it's just so much fun to be out here and dress up and help out Special Olympics."

The Presidents' Day Plunge is in its 13th year. Today's event helped raise over $54,000.
