The 2013-2014 school year marks the 22nd year in which the GOLD STAR AWARDS have honored excellence in education. This program brings public recognition to educators (K-12) who have made significant contributions toward better education.
KCFW-TV 9 viewers are encouraged to nominate a favorite teacher who has made a difference in their lives. Parents, students, former students and anyone can make a nomination simply by noting the teacher's name, school and why he or she deserves the GOLD STAR AWARD.
Nominations can be mailed to KCFW-TV 9, P.O. Box 857, Kalispell, Montana 59903 or emailed to email@example.com. Each nomination is reviewed by a selection committee made up of persons from the education community.
Nine winners are chosen, one per month during the school year, from around western Montana. Once a winner is selected, KCFW produces and airs a winner profile on the station. Each winner also receives an attractive GOLD STAR AWARD plaque.
