BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Northern Lights Trading Company, a Bozeman outdoor apparel business, is trying to sell both its locations and move somewhere else in town.
The ski, camping, and apparel store is located on Babcock, near 19th Avenue, and the water sports location is west of town on Huffine Lane.
After thirty years in town, the owners say now's the time to relocate.
Neither store is in a core retail area and company leaders think that hurts business. Officials say they are looking for locations on both Main Street and 19th Avenue, and plan to combine the two stores.
"I think there are a couple locations here in town that everybody knows of and everybody drives at least once or twice a day. 19th Avenue being one of those, Main Street being another one of those. So there's not really a set location that we've decided on yet but we do have some areas in mind," said store General Manager Jonathan Crossman.
Crossman says that visibility is extremely important to growing as a business, and that a move to a more busy area of town is just what they need to be successful.
"we want to strengthen our company and by doing that we feel that by bringing both locations together and possibly getting that to a larger location with a better foot traffic and drive-by traffic we can do that. We're tucked back on Babcock, we've been in business here in Bozeman for thirty years so people know our name but we'd like to get out there and get a little bit more of that drive-by traffic," he said.
Both locations have been listed on the market since mid-January. The Babcock location's asking price is $1,275,000 and the Huffine Lane location is going for $995,000.
