KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Josh Donaldson homered twice and drove in four runs, and Brandon Moss matched his career high with four hits as the Oakland Athletics pounded out an 11-3 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night.

The Royals' eight-game winning streak ended.

The A's bashed a season-high 20 hits, with seven players contributing multi-hit games. That made it easy for left-hander Jon Lester (13-7) to pick up his third consecutive victory since being acquired in a July 31 trade with the Boston Red Sox.

Donaldson, who upped his homer total to 25, belted out Bruce Chen pitches in the seventh and eighth innings.
