Senator John Walsh held a roundtable discussion in Missoula today, this time with Montana senior citizens.
Walsh talked with community leaders at Missoula Aging Services about issues they face. One of the main concerns was that senior assistance programs are at risk of federal budget cuts.
Walsh used the Meals On Wheels service as an example.
"Some of these people at home are only receiving one meal a day. When we make cuts to those programs they may not be able to be fed. That's their only contact with the outside world in some cases -- somebody coming to provide them with a meal," Walsh said.
Community leaders also wanted to push for more research into finding a cure for Alzheimer's Disease.
