BUTTE, Mont. -

A Butte mom who left a hospital with her newborn while apparently high on meth pleaded not guilty to forgery in an Anaconda courtroom Wednesday.

Law enforcement in Utah arrested 29-year-old Michelle Yallup after a multi-state search.

She allegedly fled an Anaconda hospital in June with her infant son. She's accused of signing her sister's name to hospital papers.

Officials said her sister helped wheel her out of the hospital after she delivered a baby boy.

There is a separate pending case in Justice Court for misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.

Yallup will appear in court again in October. She remains in jail on a $30,000 bond.
