HAMILTON, Mont. -

Young artists are capturing the essence of an old-time country fair in Hamilton. They are painting a mural on one of the buildings at the Ravalli County Fairgrounds.

High school art students are telling the story of that week in late summer when people celebrate their hard work and accomplishments.

It's a panorama of livestock, harvest, the carnival and rodeo.

"What we're painting is about the spirit of the fair," said Mary Royce, of Corvalllis, "and for everyone to view it and be inspired."

The project is part of a summer art program for kids put on by Art Focus, a gallery in Hamilton.
