The following is a press release from the Missoula County Democrats:
The Missoula County Democratic Central Committee has selected Tyler Gernant to be the Democratic candidate for County Clerk and Recorder/Treasurer. He will appear on the November ballot in place of Vickie Zeier, who is withdrawing from the race to assume her new position, Chief Administrative Officer of Missoula County.
Tyler Gernant is a Missoula-based attorney with nearly a decade of legal experience that is directly relevant to the duties of the Missoula Clerk and Recorder/Treasurer. His practice areas include real estate and commercial transactions, finance, probate and motor vehicle titling. He also has a demonstrated commitment to customer service and has proven himself a capable leader. As a fourth generation Montanan and third generation Missoulian, he has strong roots in our area and has proven his commitment to our community. He is a director of Homeword, a statewide affordable housing nonprofit, and co-founded the Missoula Greenhorns, a local nonprofit organized to assist young business professionals entering the workforce.
“Missoula Democrats are proud to throw our full support behind Tyler’s candidacy. We believe he will continue the effective leadership at this successful county office,” said David Kendall, chair of the Missoula County Democratic Central Committee.
The Clerk and Recorder/Treasurer office handles birth and death certificates, real estate documents, property taxes, and many other services that are critical to Missoula County residents.
