A large crowd is expected to turn out for a memorial service for the Three Forks fire chief who died in a highway collision that also killed a family of five.
The service for Todd Rummel will be held at the Three Forks High School gymnasium at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The 44-year-old Rummel became chief in May after eight years with the volunteer fire department. The Pennsylvania native had been a firefighter since he was 18 years old.
He was driving from Helena to Three Forks on Thursday night when his fire engine collided with a pickup truck carrying 29-year-old Matthew Boegli, 30-year-old Crystal Ross and their three young children.
Gov. Steve Bullock has ordered state flags to be flown at half-staff to honor Rummel and the family.
