MISSOULA, Mont. -

The Missoula Community Foundation is hosting Give Local Missoula Day. It's part of a national event called Give Local America. This is the first time Missoula has participated.  The goal this year is to raise $100,000.

"Anyone can donate. The whole message today is anyone can be a philanthropist. You can give at the $10 level and on up, of course. there's a minimum of $10 but it's fun to give to a whole number of nonprofits," said Noreen Humes, with Downtown Missoula Partnership.

Last time NBC Montana checked at 9 p.m., there were 1,650 gifts raised for a total of $108,015.51.

The 24-hour event ends just before midnight. Click here to learn more.
