First Alert 48 Hour Forecast

A southwest flow has brought smoke into western Montana from fires in California and Oregon.  Some improvement may occur Friday as a weak cold front moves through the region Thursday night and Friday.  It will bring a westerly flow into the region, although smoke may still be prevalent in some areas.

This front will usher slightly cooler air into the region.  A few lingering showers and thunderstorms are possible Thursday evening, mainly across southwest Montana around Butte and Bozeman.  Otherwise, partly cloudy with lows in the 40s to around 50.  Partly sunny Friday with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

A beautiful weekend is expected across the area, which will be a nice end to summer.  We can expect clear, chilly nights and sunny, warmer days.  Very chilly Saturday morning with lows in the upper 20s in Butte to the 30s elsewhere.  Otherwise, highs in the 70s.

Warm temperatures will continue through Wednesday of next week.  Weather models indicate a chance of showers and thunderstorms late Thursday and Friday.
