First Alert 48 Hour Forecast

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY through Saturday for the Flathead and Mission Valleys, including Kalispell and Polson.  It is also posted for the Butte, Deer Lodge and Seeley Lake areas.  A mix of rain and snow changing to snow by Saturday with a trace up to 3 inches.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for most passes across western Montana and the West Yellowstone area for Friday night and Saturday.  3 to 13 inches of snow are possible in these areas.

A potent Pacific storm will move through western Montana Friday night through the weekend.  The front will swing through the Kalispell area Saturday morning, around noon in Missoula and during the afternoon in the Butte and Bozeman areas.  Ahead of it, valley rain or a mix will be possible with heavy mountain snow developing.  Gusty winds up to 30 and 40 mph, especially as the front passes.  Behind it, snow levels will drop to the valley floors with flurries and snow showers periodically through Sunday.  A trace up to 2 inches will be possible in all valleys by Sunday.

Lows staying steady in the upper 20s in Butte to the 30s elsewhere Friday night with highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s in advance of the front.  Temperatures will then drop to the 30s area wide on Sunday.

Weather models were showing a storm system moving in just before Thanksgiving Day next week.  However, they are changing and at this point it does not look to be as stormy as first thought during this period.  Stay tuned!
