A very quiet and tranquil weather pattern is settling into western Montana through Thursday. We can expect partly to mostly sunny days with highs in the 40s. Clear to partly cloudy and cold at night. Due to all the surface moisture, locally dense fog will form in the mornings, especially in the Kalispell and Missoula areas. Black ice will also form on some roadways. Lows in the single digits in Butte, the 10s in Bozeman to the 20s in Missoula and Kalispell.
A weak storm system will bring just a chance of rain and snow late Friday into early Saturday, with a stronger storm by Monday of next week.
