The AA state tournament kicked off for legion baseball teams Tuesday in Lethbridge, AB.  The A state tournament also began Tuesday morning in Lewistown.  Check here for updated tournament results.

STATE 'AA' TOURNAMENT IN LETHBRIDGE

The Missoula Mavericks recovered from their loss on Day #1 against Medicine Hat to win five straight games at the 'AA' state tournament in Lethbridge, Alberta.  Missoula took down the #1 seed Billings Royals twice on Saturday to earn the state championship.  It's the seventh AA state title for the Mavericks, and it stopped the Billings Royals from winning their 3rd state championship in a row.

STATE 'A' TOURNAMENT IN LEWISTOWN

The Glacier Twins can call themselves legion baseball state champions for the first time in program history after winning a pair of elimination games on Saturday at the state 'A' tournament in Lewistown.  Glacier scored a 14-4 win over Belgrade in the afternoon to earn a rematch against Laurel, who scored a 9-1 victory over the Twins earlier in the tournament. The Twins now advance to the Northwest Regional, which begins Thursday in Anchorage, Alaska. Glacier will open tournament play on Friday against the Juneau Midnight Suns.
