KALISPELL, Mont. -

Wayfarers State Park will be receiving some updates in the coming months.

Park officials tell us that a small ranger station will be built in the Harry Horn side of the park. The ranger station will also contain new public restrooms.

An additional camp host site will be constructed, where summer staff members can park their RVs so they can live on-site during the summer months.

These improvements are part of phase one of the project, and are estimated to cost around $344,000. The project will be paid for by the Montana State Parks capital budget, which comes from camp user fees. The additions should be completed by next spring.

Officials say they are still in search of funding for phase two, which will include a new picnic shelter closer to Flathead Lake.
