Today's Severe Weather Threat Level is Moderate for all of Western and Southwest Montana due to expected thunderstorms.

An energetic storm system will bring an increasing threat of thunderstorms to the region today. Widespread showers and thunderstorms will sweep across the region this afternoon. Rain and a few non-severe type storms will move through the Flathead Valley with stronger storms staying to the south. The best location for strong to severe storms will be south of Missoula, in the Bitterroot Valley east to Butte and Bozeman. Small hail, gusty winds, frequent lightning and locally heavy rain is possible with the stronger storms. There is an isolated flash flood threat near recently burned areas. Temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s and low 90s.
