A vision for ABS Field in Evergreen is on its way to expanding, especially now with the help from the Evergreen Lions Club.

Today the Boys & Girls Club got together at the field, and about 100 kids showed up for a cookout and one special event.

The Evergreen Lions Club president presented a check to the club for $6,000. The money came from a recent benefits auction the Lions Club held, and will go towards subsidizing a grant for the Boys & Girls Club summer program.

The president of Evergreen Lions Club told NBC Montana that this was a much deserved donation.

"Lions Club is dependent on youth and we are ever aging, and at this point in time, we need to be involved with the youth,” explained Rod Leese.

Leese explained that they are excited to see the 22 acres grow.

“We donated this property to them 2 years ago and we want to stay active. We've taken care of the property for over 10 years and at this point in time we want to see it prosper and grow," said Leese.

The vision is to build two more baseball fields, soccer and football areas and a walking path along Spring Creek.
