In Bigfork, Maggie Pontius celebrated her 100th birthday this week. Maggie was born April 5, 1914. It was the same year Henry Ford introduced the production line for the Model T.
We met Maggie today at the Bigfork Senior Center, where she was celebrating her birthday with friends and neighbors.
Maggie grew up in Pasadena, California, and worked in the Huntington Beach High School library until she retired. She moved to Bigfork in the early '70s and was a founding member of the Bigfork Senior Center.
When we asked Maggie if any one special memory stood out in her mind from the last 100 years she told us about a family vacation to Yosemite National Park.
"We went to Yosemite, and years ago they used to have the firefall at night and, oh, that was pretty!" said Pontius
Maggie says to stay healthy and live to 100 she eats Total cereal almost every day and tries not to over-do.
