A Kalispell business is receiving recognition for outstanding workplace safety. WorkSafeMT says Kramer Enterprises, a construction company, is doing all it can to keep their workers safe on the job.
They say Montana workers are more likely to be killed or injured on the job than anywhere else in the country, regardless of industry. Kramer Enterprises reports zero workplace injuries since it's start in 2003.
The company tells us they instill a "safety culture," where staying safe is something that workers do every day - whether it be at a work site or traveling to and from home. President Terry Kramer says he suffered from a workplace injury which kept him off the job for five years. He says he instills the culture from the moment his workers walk in the door.
"To us first will always be family," said Kramer, "and always the employee that they go home every day [safe]. I've been there, done it myself, and it was a real strain on our family. I wouldn't wish that on anybody."
