A Lincoln County woman is going to run from Libby to Kalispell, in order to raise money for the Special Olympics. Kelda Latham-Bennett started training in December.
On June 3, she will run about 58 miles from Achievements? Parkside Thrift Store in Libby to the Lodge at McGregor Lake. After a night there, she?ll run about 32 more miles to Flathead Industries in Kalispell.
Libby reserve officers will keep a close eye on the roads during Kelda?s run. She says her goal is to raise more money for the Special Olympics than she did last year.
She says she?s already drawn inspiration from Special Olympics athletes as she trains and fundraises.
?They participate in physical competitions without displaying ego or judgment. They go in there and they?re alive,? said Latham-Bennett.
Folks hoping to donate to the cause can call Kelda at 318-359-1969.
