"There are probably a lot of kids who might have an issue going to prom just because of the financial commitment" said Belgrade resident Amber Guth.
Guth knows how important prom is to high schoolers- and how expensive it can be.
So she came up with a way for kids to experience the special night without worrying about the costs.
"We wanted to make sure girls got their hair done, their makeup done. We did nails, and then at the end we had some boys who needed help with tuxes" she said.
Called "A Night to Remember," the pre-prom event offer nearly everything for free- including dresses, shoes, tuxes, accessories and more.
"A photographer to take pictures of all the kids, we've added boutonnieres and corsages" Guth said, of the growing list of services and items.
Ressler Motors will provide Cadillac Escalades for transportation, and volunteers will put together a dinner.
"All to candlelight so the kids have a lot of fun, and really do feel as special as they should on prom night" Guth said.
To help make A Night to Remember possible for these kids, Guth said that she's always looking for donations.
And while shoes and dresses might be obvious items, she said there's other supplies that she could really use help with.
She said they need flowers, jewelry, hair accessories, nail polish, food and other last-minute items for the prom-goers.
Because she buys a lot of the items herself, Guth said monetary donations would also make a big difference.
"There are a lot of things that we have to cover" she said.
A Night to Remember isn't just about providing high school kids a means to attend prom, Guth said, it's also a way to thank students for all their hard work in school.
But in the end she said it was the students who couldn't thank her enough.
"This wasn't just one little thing" she said. "It really boosted their confidence, and made a huge difference for them."
And Guth can't wait for kids to sign up this year to experience the same.
"We just want everybody to feel special" she said, adding "we don't want anybody to feel like they didn't get what they needed."
