Butte School District voters passed the 3.65-mill levy solely for Butte High School. The levy, which amounts to about $196,000 for next year, was approved by 62.8% of the voters.
According to J.R. Richardson with the Butte School District the money is needed to maintain the status quo. The funds will go into maintenance and programs operations.
Richardson said the money is needed due to continually dropping enrollment at the high school.
2,677 voters voted in favor of the levy. 1,586 voted against.
Richardson said it's a relief the levy passed, and he is glad the vote was in the high school's favor.
