Police in Nampa say a man is dead after pointing a gun at officers, leading at least one of them to shoot at him.
Police Chief LeRoy Forsman officers responding to a noise complaint at a Nampa apartment at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday found a man with a gun. The man said something the officers found threatening, so they backed down the hallway.
Forsman says the man pointed a gun at the officers and at least one of the three fired at the man.
The man locked himself in his apartment. He was found dead around 7:00 a.m.
An autopsy will determine the cause of death. His name has not been released.
The shooting is being investigated by the Canyon County Critical Incident Task Force.
