MISSOULA, Mont. -

The high temperature in Missoula made it all the way up to 54° on Sunday! Kalispell hit 53, Butte rose to 51, and Belgrade reached 58. That type of heat will stick around into the start of the work week.

Monday begins with some sunshine before thicker clouds take over during the afternoon. Thermometers will still be running 5 to 10 degrees above average for this time of year.

It might be hard to believe, but snow could return to the valleys as soon as Monday night. Accumulations won't go over an inch or two, but it should be enough to create a slick Tuesday morning commute. Scattered shower activity looks to linger into Tuesday afternoon.

If you are eager for another chance to break out your sandals, the spring warmth returns for the latter portion of the work week. Plentiful sunshine gets spread across the region as temperatures spike with another nice heatwave.
