Race season will soon commence in the Flathead, and Montana Raceway Park is gearing up for their 22nd year in Kalispell.

Drivers were revving their engines Saturday at the speedway's annual Test, Tune, and Tech Day. The event was for drivers of all ages who brought their cars to the quarter mile track for registration, safety inspections, test laps, and to mingle with other drivers and spectators. Folks we spoke with say vehicles must be inspected prior to hitting the asphalt, and track employees are always adjusting track rules to ensure everyone's safety.

"Minor things can make a huge difference," said Manager Marie Auclaire, "[Our techs] are helping us make sure things are in line. It's important because we want safety to be one of our main concerns, and each year we're always improving that."

Employees say every race is different and encourage everyone to attend at least one race - they kick off the summer with their Pepsi Cola season opener on Saturday May 12th.
