Senator Jon Tester visited Flathead County on Saturday, touring a local theater company in Whitefish and visiting with a group of senior citizens. The group talked about the possible closures of Montana mail processing centers, with some telling Tester they rely on the mail system to get their medicine.

Tester said shutting down the Kalispell mail-processing center would be a huge mistake, and also discussed the importance of new jobs in the Flathead.

?There?s a lot of components to good economic growth,? said Tester. ?I think Northwest Montana has a lot of those components, but some of them need to be addressed. The bypass around Kalispell, it?s about half done. We need to get the doggone thing finished.?
