MISSOULA, Mont. -

Thousand of Montana beer lovers crowded Caras Park in Missoula Saturday for the 20th annual Garden City Brewfest.

The event capped the city's first ever craft brew week. It's the oldest and largest beer festival in Montana, with more than 60 beers on tap - more than half of which are made in Montana.

United States Senator Max Baucus even attended and poured beer. He's chairman of the Bipartisan Brewers Caucus, and he says local breweries don't just make good beer, they create jobs.

"Other states are trying to pass legislation in congress which would inhibit beers from coming into those states, but we're opposed to that,? said Baucus. ?We want to be able to export our beers - Montana craft beers - anywhere in the United States because we have so many craft breweries and because it's good beer, and great brands too."

Montana now has 34 breweries, employing more than 250 people in Montana.
