BOZEMAN, Mont. -

Police say they received a call from a man just before 9 am, saying he was in his car on the corner of Jackrabbit and Glider lanes in Belgrade.

He said he had a gun, and wanted to kill himself.

Police say they quickly closed off the intersection to protect the public, and warned nearby residents to stay in their houses.

One resident, Julie Gannon, said she could see the events unfold from her back windows.

Her house is right across from where it all happened.

"My son was watching him and he could see the reflection in the guy's hand that he had a gun" she said. "That's when we noticed that this is all going on behind out house."

She said she saw the man get in and out of his white van several times, sometimes walking around angrily and waving a gun.

"We did not know what was going on, besides a man with a gun behind our house" she said.

She stood by with her kids, trying to make sense of the scene.

The man shot off his gun, but no one was injured.

Police say they finally convinced the man to make contact with them, before they tased and arrested him.

Detectives are investigating the case to determine what, if any, charges the man will face.
