MISSOULA, Mont. -

Missoula's Mountain Line Bus Service has started renovation work at its downtown transfer station. A wire fence has been strung around the site.

Buses are using a temporary transfer site on Woody, between Spruce and Pine. Renovation work is expected to take about a month and a half.

"We'll be literally taking out all the pavement and putting in new concrete driving aisles, new sidewalks, new curb ramps and a bike station," said Mountain Line general manager, Michael Tree. "We'll also be putting solar on the building at the same time."

The renovation is a $250,000 project. 80% is paid for by a federal grant, with a 20% local match.
