Rainy weather kept Missoula's waterpark from opening over the weekend.
Empty lawn chairs and pools that looked more like puddles that was the sight at Splash Montana Waterpark over Memorial Day weekend.
?Our plans are traditionally are to open Memorial Day through Labor Day,? said Missoula Aquatics Supervisor Eric Seagrave.
This year, that won't be the case as rainy weather prevented the park from opening.
But, it didn't come as a big surprise to Seagrave. Only twice in the last six years have people lined up at the gate at Splash over Memorial Day weekend. Seagrave said both times, temperatures were pushing 90 degrees.
?We always look to try and open but we always kind of expect that we may not be able to,? he said.
So while they didn't get to participate in the unofficial ?kick off to summer? the staff is already preparing to try again next weekend.
?I hear it's supposed to be in the 80's and sunny so we can look to some good fun and good swimming weather,? said Seagrave.
Weather permitting they?ll fill those lawn chairs and pools with people from 12 pm to 6 pm next Saturday.
