MISSOULA, Mont. -

Missoula County reports seven alcohol related deaths so far this year and more than 200 DUI arrests.

Two of those drunk driving deaths happened after a high speed wreck on Missoula's South Hills in March.

Some University of Montana students say drinking and driving affects everyone and they are trying to put an end to it by reinvigorating Missoula's Designated Driver Program.

Christa Timmerman is coordinating the program for her UM internship project. Timmerman says, "It's become accepted to drink and drive. We think that it should be more accepted to be a designated driver and plan ahead."

The program offers designated drivers free non-alcoholic drinks and puts their names in for two monthly drawings. The winners receive $100 in gas from Noon's Petroleum. Their servers names also are put in for a drawing for gift cards from Noon's.
