National "Click It or Ticket" seat belt enforcement mobilization kicks off May 21st and police say if you're not wearing your seat belt, you can expect to get a ticket.
They're teaming up with local law enforcement- Belgrade Police and the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office- and Montana Highway Patrol to crack down on drivers and passengers who don't wear their seat belts.
Montana's Select Traffic Enforcement Program grant will also allow extra patrols during peak times of alcohol related offenses and crashes.
Police say seat belts save lives and even though this special enforcement runs from May 21st to June 3rd, officers say they will enforce seat belt laws year-round.
