Drivers beware? The Missoula Police Department will have more officers on the road this week to make sure drivers are buckling up.
The patrol increase is part of a national campaign called "Click It or Ticket" that runs through Memorial Day.
Traffic Sergeant Greg Amundsen says wearing a seatbelt is one of the fastest and easiest ways to save a life.
"The most important piece of safety equipment in your vehicle, I guess outside of your brain, and making good choices, is your seatbelt,? said Amundsen It's the best way to make sure that you're going to survive or even not be injured during a crash."
Roughly 80 percent of highway fatalities are unrestrained drivers who were ejected from their vehicles. Montana law requires all drivers and passengers to wear their seatbelts.
