MISSOULA, Mont. -

Officials in Ravalli County say the pilot and passenger of a single engine plane are doing fine after making an emergency landing near the town of Darby.

The plane?s pilot managed to land on a Montana road after running into bad weather. The plane was running low on fuel and appently had started to take on ice. The pilot told emergency responders that he scouted along the roadway, looking for cars before touching down. A gust of wind caught the plane sending it into the ditch.

The emergency landing is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administraton.
