A West Linn, Ore., man died Sunday evening in a fall from a trail in Skamania County.

Undersheriff Dave Cox says 65-year-old Thomas Bennett was hiking with his wife on the Lower Falls Creek Trail when he fell off a 30-foot cliff about 15 miles north of Carson in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. He was submerged in Falls Creek when rescuers arrived.

The Columbian reports (http://is.gd/tVsNYw) deputies, fire department emergency responders and Wind River Search and Rescue worked to recover the body.
