National Parks Week kicked off Saturday with free admission to the nearly 400 parks across the United States.
Flathead residents and visitors alike were basking in the warm weather and blue skies that Glacier National Park had to offer Sunday afternoon. While many arrived by car, others preferred to take in the scenery by bike or on foot.
The Apgar Visitor Center was particularly busy with folks picnicking at the foot of Lake McDonald.
"It's a good chance for some of the locals to get out of the cabin fever scenario and come up and enjoy it while we live here," said Kalispell resident Hawke Lawshe, "the toys are out, the park's ready, and the season is upon us."
National Parks Week concludes on April 29th.
