A Montana lawmaker has called a special legislative committee hearing in Helena, about the corruption allegations against the Lake County Sheriff?s Office and the resulting investigations.
State Senator Jim Shockley says he wants people to know where investigations stand into allegations of poaching and retribution against whistleblowers. He chairs the Interim Law and Justice Committee, and he says several witnesses may testify at the hearing.
?There have been many complaints made, email, telephone calls, newspapers, the people want to know what?s going on,? said Shockley. ?So my committee has an obligation to have a hearing and open it up.?
The hearing is scheduled for April 20 at 1:30 pm at the Capitol building in Helena.
