MISSOULA, Mont. -

Missoula deputies and search and rescue crews are in a frantic race against time to save a 2-year-old girl who went missing south of Seeley Lake.

Deputies say the girl was playing in her front yard when her mother suddenly noticed she was missing.

Search and rescue was called out. We're told a sheriff's deputy found the girl, who was not breathing.

Officials say they performed CPR, but the weather was too bad for air rescue to fly in, so a deputy put her in his car and drove her out.

We are told the girl is now in an ambulance en route to Missoula.

NBC Montana will let you know what happens as we learn more.
