Maritsa grew up in Minneapolis but has deep roots in Montana. Her great grandparents were ranchers who homesteaded on the Mission Range at the turn of the century and her mother grew up in the Flathead Valley. Being one of the few in her family who didn't grow up in Montana, Maritsa decided to head to the University of Montana after high school.
Maritsa began her career at NBC Montana in October 2006 on Montana Today. She graduated from the University of Montana in 2007 with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Communication Studies before moving to the Flathead Valley where most of her extended family lives. Maritsa has anchored our KCFW newscast and worked as NBC Montana's weekend anchor. You can now catch her every morning on Montana Today.
Maritsa enjoys meeting new people, playing in the sun and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings with her husband and son.
