BOZEMAN, Mont. -

The Montana Cannabis Industry Association may have to drop its lawsuit fighting Senate Bill 423.

SB 423 enacted strict new regulations on the medical marijuana industry -- from banning advertisements, to limiting the number of patients each provider can have.

According to a statement on the group's website, they're running out of money to pay for their lawyer.

They say as the number of providers has dropped, so have donations.

If the matter is sent back to district court after the May 30 Supreme Court hearing, it could cost another $100,000.
