Heavily armed police officers made their way through a quiet Kalispell neighborhood on Monday evening, to arrest an apparently suicidal man accused of threatening to kill a family member.
Officers took the suspect to Kalispell Regional Medical Center for a mental health evaluation. Officers say they got reports at around 4:30 pm, of a man that had made some threats to use a firearm against family members. Officers looked for him at one Kalispell house, but later located him in west Kalispell. Officers say the man surrendered, and no one was harmed. According to the Kalispell Police Department, at least one gun was confiscated from the house.
One patrol sergeant told NBC Montana he?s glad it all came to a peaceful ending.
?That?s our goal, always, is to make sure that no harm comes to anyone, whether it be suspect, victim, law officers, whatever it is, ? said Jim Wardensky. ?Peaceful resolution is always the goal in any kind of situation like this.?
