MISSOULA, Mont. -

Spring has sprung, and that means the bears are out in full force.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks biologists are tracking grizzlies in the Blackfoot Valley, east of Missoula.

A trail cam snapped pictures of a grizzly near one of FWP?s "rub poles".

Biologists place them in strategic locations; hoping bears will use them as rub objects, and leave some hair behind.

Scientists then collect the hair samples to use for DNA studies on Montana?s grizzly bear population.
