MISSOULA, Mont. -

University of Montana quarterback Jordan Johnson delayed a scheduled court hearing over a restraining order filed against him.

The woman filed the temporary order of protection earlier this month, and claimed Johnson sexually assaulted her.

Missoula municipal court officials say the continuance was requested by Johnson?s attorney, but both Johnson and the woman agreed to the push off the hearing until next week.

NBC Montana told you Monday sources confirmed Johnson is under criminal investigation by the Missoula Police Department. Officials say the woman who filed the temporary restraining order, filed a police report last week alleging Johnson assaulted her.

Johnson's attorney denied the allegations of sexual assault.
