MISSOULA, Mont. -

The average price of a gallon of gas in Montana jumped again. According to gasbuddy.com, prices have risen just over 9 cents, averaging $3.74 a gallon.

That's about 34 cents a gallon more than last month. Nationally, the average climbed around 1 and one-half cents to $3.91.

In Montana, the cheapest gas can be found in Great Falls. The most expensive is in Ashland, east of Billings.

In Missoula, Darren Owens isn't keeping tabs at the pump. He figures he saved thousands of dollars when he sidelined his car a year ago, and took his bicycle instead.

"The economy is pretty hard as it is," said Owens," and every dollar you can save is a dollar in my pocket, I'm not paying to the oil mongers."
