Mid and upper level moisture continues to move into southern Montana, mainly along and south of I-90. These areas will have a lot of high thin cirrus clouds tonight. Clear across northwest Montana. As more moisture moves into southern Montana, there will be an increasing chance of some high based, mainly dry storms developing, with little rain reaching the ground but locally gusty winds possible Wednesday afternoon.

A cold front will move through the area late Wednesday and Wednesday night. It will bring a better chance of some showers and storms to mainly southwest Montana, around Butte and Bozeman on Thursday. The front will stall, with a good chance of showers continuing Friday in Butte and Bozeman, with only a slight chance around Missoula. Kalispell will also have a decent chance of showers Friday.

All areas will be cooler Thursday and Friday, with highs dropping to the 60s Friday. High pressure will build back into the region this weekend with a warming trend. Highs will bounce back to the 70s by Sunday.
