FLOOD WARNING for the Bitterroot River near Missoula, Victor and Darby and for the Yaak River near Troy, the Fisher River near Libby and the Thompson River near Thompson Falls.

WINTER STORM WATCH for all areas east of the divide for Friday and Saturday, including the Bozeman area. Snowfall of 1 to 3 inches below 5000 feet and 4 to 12 inches above 5000 feet.

A strong cold front will move through western Montana Thursday evening, bringing a round of showers and storms. A period of gusty west winds up to 40 mph is expected with the front. Colder air will follow with rain and snow showers into early Friday. Two upper level storms will combine over Idaho and Wyoming Friday and Saturday, bringing snow to the northern Rockies. The heaviest will fall along and east of the divide. Elsewhere, rain and snow showers will continue.

Highs will drop to the 40s on Friday and the 40s and 50s over the weekend. More unsettled is expected Sunday through next week, with temperatures remaining below normal.
