Although high pressure is dominating western Montana's weather, a lot of mid and upper level moisture is moving through the ridge, providing clouds and a few showers and thunderstorms. The best chance of showers will be this evening and again Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. The best chance will exist over southwest Montana. Highs will be held down a little due to the cloud cover. However, we can still expect highs in the 70s through Wednesday.

A strong cold front will move into the region late Thursday, bringing a good chance of showers and storms late Thursday and Thursday night with showers on Friday. Locally heavy rain is possible, especially across northwest Montana where over an inch is possible. A trough of low pressure will then sit over the region through the weekend, bringing cloud and a few showers. Highs will drop to the 60s Thursday and then the upper 40s and 50s Friday and remaining in the 50s over the weekend.
